Thankz to ICC for giving such a kick start to the T20 matches. With that exciting final, as Ravi Shastri said " T20 will not get a better platform to be established". We can hope that as test cricket gave way to One dayers, gradually One dayers Will give way to T20. The new form of game gives much more vigour and excitement. Also it doesn't make people lazy, compel them to take leave from offices...
ICC has done all the repair of the loss they had in previous world cup, as India crushed out earlier. The victory of team India will do the repair work for the cricket in our country too...
BCCI, being the richest cricket board in the world can simply announce Millions for their players. Of course the effort of the players need appraisal. The tournament has brought big profit for BCCI also, so its time for them to help other games also to come up...
Any way the last half of the year has been incredible for us. May it be the Asia Cup, or WC T20, or through Pankaj Adwani. The rise in the stock market, the reduction in the rates of inflation, the $ being put below 40(this may cut short salary in IT industry still India shining!) everything has contributed to the feel good factor among the youth.
On the other hand Pakistan is flooded with problems. The comeback of Nawas Shareef and the attitude of Musharaf, the up coming polls, the cases going against the Gen. in Supreme Court, and lot more. In early days it was religion that brought about the unity among the people there, but now a days that is not working. Another thing for which they stand united is against India and cricket. They wont mind being kicked out of WC in the beginning itself, but they cant accept loosing to India, that too twice!! It is evident from the protests against the players going on there.
So from all angles, the environment is becoming favourable to us... Let us make use of this and avoid the slavish mentality towards Western Nations. The world has begun looking to East, Let India be the light house here.

itz nice to see India win and dat every victory dat an Indian makes sends a message to the crowd. but are we really bothered or ready to aacept the message thats the main probs. there is no reason to coin the victory over an "arch rival" in a mere gentleman's game as a victory over dat nation. Traditionally dat nation has been thriving over itz anti-Indian sentiments. But they have also started to shift their thoughts over the real problems of the nation. Poverty and anarchism. But have we ever thought the plight of our nation? The recent happenings in North India where democracy is made an effigy and mobocracy is "punishing" the "criminals" and police and officials being held as mere spectators? We really need to revive our traditional values dat India has always upheld!
Let democracy prevail in its real sense and meaning in India; let India really Shine!
Jai Hind!
All in the name of sports
The day before the T20 finals I had a word or two with my chat friends across the border. The patriotic more so religious friend of mine from Pakistan while betting for the game told me “ Hunmein toh World Cup Ramdan ke maheine mein jeethe dhe… Abki baar bhi Ramdan ka maheena hain… Cup toh Pakistan aanahi hain…” I kept mum. But on the 24th I retorted to my friend, “Bhai aap shaayad bhool gaye dhe ki Hindustan mein bhi Ramdan ka Maheena chal reha hain... And when the Hindustan Muslim with his dedicated mind prays along with his brothers of the country, all from a couple of believes, aapka dua zara bhheka padgaya… Koi problem nahin… yeh jeeth mein aapko bhi mubarak ho!”

A very warm welcome to the T20 champions. Mumbaikars, who never stop unless for a cause, Mumbai, the city that never stumbles, paused and flowed onto the Wankheder’s Stadium to greet the true Indians. I too dedicated virtually the whole of the day to the live telecast of the felicitation ceremony, just to get a glimpse, but of whom? All that the Indians including me, after the days wait, could see was that the petty politicians conquering the front row of the dais where the felicitation was happening. Thank God, Dhoni got a seat in the front row!
Speaking about the political gimmicks, the Kerala CM announced that the state Govt. will reward player Sreesanth with Rs. 5 lakhs and Robin Uthappa, whose mother happens to be a malayali, with Rs. 3 lakhs. Now, that seems to be something extravagant for this over draft state, which borrows money in advance, every month from the RBI, just to pay the salaries. That’s only unusual a thing if you wear a critics’ goggle. But as an ordinary Malayali, I too would take a back seat and think that if Delhi can give Rs. 25 lakhs, why not Rs. 5 lakhs?
Now about the same time, the news channels telecasted something really, really unusual a thing. For every cricket match there will be a man of the match and the man of the championship match is a real champ. Irafan Pathan in that sense is a warrior, for all his toil and the dazzling comeback in the series. The Pathan’s father will be proud that two of his sons, form his middle class family, without the aid of any godfathers, with sheer desire for the game and dedication, played for the nation in the finals. The only regional administration to not to come forward to applaud and to feel proud about the sons of the soil, unfortunately is the Pathan’s, Gujrath state Govt. CM Mr. Narendra Modi was too reluctant even to comment on the achievements of the Pathan brothers. Most of the national channels pinpointed this mishap.
The first to come forward from Gujrath with praises for the duo was the Vadodra Cricket Council, which had seen Yousif and Irfan sweat and grow into brilliant national level players with their never ending passion for the game and gigantic will power to fight. By 5:30 pm today, the local BJP MLA, Mr. Upendra Gohil payed visit to Mr. Pathan and gave a small prize from his pocket. Mr. Gohil said and I quote, “… Modiji ka yahin maanna hain ki unse bada koi aur Gujrathi hain hi nahin. Issiliye weh ab taq…” Now that’s something to feel pity on and that lacks sportsman spirit Mr. CM!
P.S.:
Four of the players and the coach of the Indian National Hockey Team, which won the Asia cup, defeating the then champions S. Korea, is going for a hunger strike in front of the Karnataka CM’s office. It’s all to protest against the step motherly approach shown towards the national game! All I want to do is to salute them and say “Chak de India!”
india won the match is a good achievement. But the anouncement of kerala gov to giv 5 lakh to sreeshanth is not to be encouraged especially when the students in the sports hostels were suffering from lack of good food and equipments.
